FlashForward won the opening time slot with 12.4 million viewers

ABC got more good news from television’s premiere week as its new drama “Flash Forward” opened Thursday night with some of the best ratings news for a new drama for that network since both “Desperate Housewives” and “Lost” kicked off their hit runs in 2004.

“Forward” exceeded most expectations by pulling in 12.4 million viewers and averaging a 4.1 rating in the 18-49 audience that ABC most seeks to reach. That allowed ABC a rare victory over CBS’s venerable reality hit “Survivor,” which averaged 11.9 million viewers and a 3.7 among that younger adult audience.
